Review process

As a peer-reviewed journal, SBC uses a double-blind peer-review system. Our team of reviewers includes over 100 internal and external reviewers. The average period from submission to a first decision is around 30 days, and that from the first decision to acceptance is lower than 40 days.

Any invited reviewer who feels unqualified or unable to review the manuscript due to a conflict of interests will ask to notify the editors and decline the invitation. Reviewers will be asked to formulate their statements clearly in a sound and reasoned way so that authors can use the reviewer’s arguments to improve the manuscript. Personal criticism of the authors must be avoided. They should indicate in their review process any relevant literature that has not been cited by the authors, anything that has been reported in previous publications and not given appropriate reference or citation, and any substantial similarity or overlap with any other manuscript (published or unpublished) of which they have personal knowledge.
